The project was born from a wonderful idea by the students and the De Tata-Marchese family, shared and supported by the Municipality of Frattamaggiore in honor and memory of Rina De Tata, a tribute to one of the most esteemed and important sopranos of the post-war period, recently deceased, who built her long and successful career on two fundamental pillars: total dedication to the art of singing and the technical pursuit of vocal excellence.
A strong-willed and tenacious woman who in the early 1940s had the courage to break down the chastened culture of women, embarking on the study of singing with sacrifice and passion.

She attended the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples where she perfected her voice, becoming a sought-after light soprano.
He had a career studded with successes, he sang a vast operatic repertoire, but his acclaimed masterpiece was G. Donizetti's “Lucia di Lammermoor”, which he even hinted at shortly before his death.
The project was born and developed in Frattamaggiore and, over time, took on an international dimension while maintaining its local roots.
Frattamaggiore is remembered throughout its history not only as a wealthy and industrious city, but also as the birthplace of the great musician Francesco Durante, a pioneer and a teacher of great importance, so much so that in the 18th century he was considered one of the most important and representative figures of the European music scene. Significantly, Jean Jacques Rousseau called him "the greatest harmonist in Italy, that's what the world is all about."
His figure allowed our city to become a point of reference for scholars and music lovers, laying the foundations for a "cultured" musical culture that has continued throughout the years to this day.
