The project was born from a beautiful idea of the students and the De Tata - Marchese family, shared and supported by the Municipality of Frattamaggiore in honor and memory of Rina De Tata, a tribute to one of the most appreciated and important sopranos of the first post-war period, who recently passed away , who founded his long and successful career on two fundamental pillars: total dedication to the art of singing and the technical pursuit of vocal excellence.

A strong-willed and tenacious woman who in the early forties had the courage to break down the chastised culture of women, starting with sacrifices and passion to study singing.

She attended the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples where she perfected her voice, becoming a sought-after light soprano.

He had a career studded with successes, he sang a vast operatic repertoire, but his acclaimed masterpiece was G. Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor", which he mentioned even shortly before he passed away.

The project was born and developed in Frattamaggiore to then be able to assume, over time, an international dimension, while retaining its local belonging.

Frattamaggiore in its history is remembered not only for being a rich and industrious city, but also for having given birth to the great musician Francesco Durante, a school leader, a teacher of great importance, so as to be considered in the eighteenth century one of the most important and representative figures of the European music scene; it is very significant that Jean Jacques Rousseau came to define him: “le plus grand harmonist of Italy, c'est-à-dire du monde”.

His figure has allowed our city to become a reference point for scholars and music lovers, creating the basis for a "cultured" musical culture that has been perpetuated in all the following years up to the present day.
